Farm wiring takes a beating. Dust, moisture, livestock, rodents and decades of add-ons all take a toll, and when something fails at harvest, it costs more than the repair. We work on farms across Chippewa, Lac qui Parle, Swift, Yellow Medicine and the surrounding counties.
We're based in Milan, in the middle of farm country, and every job is overseen by our Master Electrician, who has more than 20 years in the trade.
- Grain dryer, auger and bin fan circuits
- Livestock barn ventilation, lighting and controls
- Yard poles, outbuilding feeders and sub-panels
- Stray voltage checks for dairy and livestock operations
- Wiring suited for dusty and damp ag buildings
Built for dust and moisture
Grain handling areas collect combustible dust, and livestock buildings are damp and corrosive. Ordinary indoor fixtures and boxes don't hold up there. We use enclosures, fittings and wiring methods suited to the location, so the installation lasts and meets code.
Yard poles and old farm services
Many farms run everything from a yard pole with feeders branching out to the house, shop and barns, often added one at a time over 50 years. We sort out undersized or damaged feeders, replace old disconnects and bring the system up to a safe, labeled layout.
Stray voltage
Small voltages on water bowls and stalls can change how livestock drink and eat. We check grounding and bonding on the farm side, find the common wiring causes, and work with your power supplier when the source may be off the farm.
