Call the utility first if...
A power line is down or sparking, stay well away and call your utility or 911. The line from the pole to your house belongs to the utility, and they'll make it safe.
Once the line is safe, the mast, weatherhead, meter socket and everything on your side is the homeowner's responsibility. That's where we come in, and we coordinate with the utility to get you reconnected.
Signs you shouldn't wait
Half the house is dead or lights get brighter and dimmer when things turn on. This can be a lost neutral, which can damage electronics and appliances.
A burning smell, buzzing, or a warm outlet or breaker. Turn off that circuit if you can do it safely, and call.
A breaker that trips again immediately after you reset it.
Water near the panel or in a flooded basement. Stay out of the water and call.
