Steffes ETS Heaters & Thermal Storage MN
A Battery for Heat
Turn your electricity into a battery. Steffes Electric Thermal Storage (ETS) systems charge up with low-cost off-peak energy at night, then release that heat throughout the day to keep your home warm for less.
Plug-in space heaters are dangerous and expensive (paying full retail rate). If you have a cold basement, a bonus room above the garage, or a workshop, an ETS unit provides safe, permanent heat at half the cost.
How ETS Works
It's simple physics. We store energy when it's cheap so you can use it when you need it.
Ceramic Core
Inside every Steffes unit are high-density ceramic bricks. These bricks heat up to 1200°F during off-peak hours (usually 10 PM - 6 AM). They are so well insulated that the case remains cool to the touch.
Room Units
Perfect for zoning. These console units replace inefficient baseboards. A quiet fan blows air across the hot bricks to maintain the exact temperature you set, regardless of the time of day.
Comfort Plus
For whole-home heating, large central ETS furnaces can replace your gas furnace entirely. They integrate with heat pumps to provide the ultimate efficiency for modern efficient homes.
ETS vs Standard Heating
Space Heater
- Cost: Calls for full Peak-Rate electricity (High).
- Safety: Fire hazard if tipped; hot coils.
- Comfort: Intense hit of heat, then cold spots.
Steffes ETS
- Cost: Uses Off-Peak rate (~50% Savings).
- Safety: Cool-touch cabinet, permanently installed.
- Comfort: Constantly radiates warmth and circulates air.
Comfort & Savings
Heat for half price. By storing heat during off-peak hours, you pay the lowest possible rate for 24/7 comfort.
- Silent Operation: No loud blower motors, just gentle radiant and convection heat.
- No Maintenance: No filters to change, no burners to clean.
- Clean Energy: Uses wind energy generated at night to heat your home during the day.
